Our Business Plan template demonstrates a fundamental roadmap for the development of your company or for the feasibility analysis of your project. The Business Plan can be used for structuring and analyzing the company's operation, redirecting its strategic and operational direction, for raising funds in banks or for presentation to investors.

We work closely with you to understand your goals and vision, research your markets and competitors, and develop your business plan. While most clients help us write a business plan, they often find that the process they went through in developing a plan is ultimately more valuable than the documents themselves.

What's Included in Our Business Planning Service
Our writing style is clear, direct and simple. A complete strategic business plan includes the following components:

  • Industry Overview - A general introduction to  industry;

  • Market opportunity - a discussion of how big the business opportunity is in terms of revenue, number of customers, segments, growth trends, etc.

  • Customers - who are they, where are they, how many are there, etc.?

  • Competition - Understand your competitive segment in as much detail as possible. If there are no direct competitors now, then who are your indirect competitors?

  • Products and Services - What products and services will the business provide to customers?

  • A description of the Business Model, including all major revenue streams. How will the business make money?

  • Marketing and Sales Plan - how will you attract and keep customers, deliver your product/service to them and earn their loyalty? How will you position your products and services against competitors?

  • Operations - what will your company's day-to-day operation be like? This includes every step from research to production to sales and billing.

  • •   Management and employees - probably the most important factor in any effective business plan. Describe the management team in terms of experience, talents, connections, etc. What additional resources will you need to make the business successful?

  • Tax Planning - Where in the country is the most viable for you to open your business? What is the best tax regime? What alternatives do we have to have the lowest possible tax burden and thus start the business more competitively?

  • Investment Opportunity and Investor Exit Strategy - What will investors get for their money or their time? When and how will they be compensated?

  • Financial Projections - includes monthly cash flow projections (with all sources of income and expenses included), pro forma financial statements, marketing and sales costs, taxes, office space, development costs, etc. We also provide clear and detailed explanations of the assumptions behind the financial projections.

  • SWOT Analysis (Strengths - Weaknesses Opportunities - Threats)

  • Supplemental Materials - patents, trademarks, trade agreements, letters of reference, etc.

Types of business plans

As professional business plan consultants, we see a wide variety of business plan formats. The three most common types of business plans are bank financing, internal planning, or investor financing. They are listed here, approximately, in order of decreasing detail and complexity.

investor financing
Many companies are simply not good candidates for bank financing. Generally, most start-up and growth companies in new technology, innovative business services, products or concepts sectors will not be able to obtain bank financing. Most technology companies (Internet, Information Technology, biotechnology, clean technologies) and green or sustainable companies also fall into this category.

These types of businesses often seek to obtain equity funding, usually from angel investors or venture capital firms. Most angel investors are successful entrepreneurs or corporate executives looking for business to invest their capital. If they've reviewed a bad business plan (poorly presented, inconsistent, or poorly designed), they won't be interested. Angel Investors and Venture Capitalists expect and demand the highest quality. For this, a business plan needs:

  • Be a proven or innovative business model;

  • Detailed and accurate market research;

  • Scenario analysis;

  • Well-documented financial projections as well as extensive supplemental materials (graphs, charts, sample materials, letters of intent, sample contracts, patent or trademark documentation, etc.)

Internal Planning
This type of plan applies to any business, regardless of its stage of growth. In this case the  objective is to guide the internal planning, the formatting of the plan and the final presentation  (book) are less important than they would be for a plan designed to raise capital resources from investors or through bank financing. In some cases, financial projections, supplemental materials and other documents (such as a PowerPoint presentation) are not needed or are only needed in a simpler form. However, the most important variable for this type of business plan is the underlying complexity and novelty of the business. A complicated or unusual business will usually require a more in-depth business plan.

For established companies with annual revenues in excess of a few million reais, there are special considerations. Various stakeholders such as a larger management team, a Board of Directors, Advisory Board, outside investors, department heads, branch managers and directors, supply chain vendors and others need to be involved with the business planning process. . Larger companies also tend to have multiple revenue streams from different products and services, serve multiple markets across geographic boundaries, and have more complex requirements for technology applications and services. All these factors must be carefully considered during the business planning process.

bank financing
Banks like companies that are stable and consistently growing, with proven business models and lots of collateral (equipment, land, buildings, bonds). This allows them to focus on historical performance, fixed assets and cash flow rather than market projections and future potential. This type of business plan usually requires a modest level of detail in financial projections, market opportunity analysis, and competitor analysis. Many established companies fall into this category. Generally, any company looking for a loan for investment, or for working capital, falls into this category. It should be noted that while some banks lend money to growth companies, they generally prefer established companies with a track record of performance and a market where there is abundant information.
